preparation are integrated into a relevant and coherent program. ACE offers...School-Based Learning Motivates students to apply rigorous academics in their career interests and aspirations. Classes offered are applicable to the world of work and meet the state academic standards. Students understand the relevancy of their classes because it is related to the world of work. Work-Based learning Introduces Academy students to work through job shadowing, internships, and work experience. Once the student completes the pre-employment skills training and career interest inventories, students may be placed into their desired career field. A job developer works with the student and the employer so that the student is assured a positive experience. Benefits
Technology Students are offered an ROP class in Digital Graphic Design. During class, students will develop skills to make powerful media presentations; web site instruction; troubleshooting; keyboarding; Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel and many more software applications! School OverviewHistory and Future Plans: This school was an alternative program for Wheatland High School. The focus for the school is to prepare students for the world of work by placing them in the community in work experience in their junior and senior year once their first two years of academics are complete. The second focus will be on technology. The Academy is a digital high school and should receive the funds in the Spring of 2000. A digital technology teacher will be hired in the 2000/2001 school year to give instruction in multi-media presentations, web site development, and building computers.
